We are currently recruiting for a: Switchboard Operator The Person: The successful candidate will have: A bubbly, outgoing personality Flexibility regarding working hours mainly evening & weekend work Fluent English, a second language is a distinct advantage Excellent communication skills The Role: You will be required to: To greet all incoming calls in a warm, welcoming, friendly manner, and efficiently direct calls to the correct extensions. To ensure all administration duties allocated by the Food & Beverage Manager, Events Manager & Managers on Duty, are completed within the allocated timeframe. To co-ordinate and allocate duties in order of priority. To print menus for Panorama and private functions. To carry out all tasks listed on the Switchboard AM/PM checklist effectively. To ensure that any additional requirements for guests are offered i.e dinner reservations, porter etc. To take reservations for both Panorama & hotel rooms required to make provisional booking for private events and meetings. To correctly take messages for guests and staff, ensuring time, date, message, from/to are emailed to correct person. To ensure that all the relevant people receive any messages immediately. Dealing with any guests requests/queries/complaints in a polite and attentive manner, and reporting any problems to the Manager on Duty. Inform the Manager on Duty immediately of any guest or staff accident on the premises. To familiarise yourself and comply with company policy with regard to: (a) Fire (b) Health & Safety (c) Hygiene (d) Customer Care (e) Security (f) Green Dog Programme To attend any meetings/training sessions as required. Maximising all sales opportunities on the phone. The careful allocation of tables to customers, having viewed all relevant guest requests. Be courteous, polite and co-operative to both guests and staff. To take reservations and assist the Reservations Manager in covering time off and sickness cover within the Department. To lead by example and to help train any new staff in the day to day procedures. To carry out any reasonable request by Management.
