Internal Controller Job Purpose The Internal Controller participates to the implementation of a sound control environment enabling ICRC organizational and operational efficiency, reliability of financial reporting and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. S/he performs periodic site visits and/or walkthroughs to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls in selected locations around the world or on selected key processes or project. Main Responsibilities: Conducts targeted risk-based site visits (spot checks) to assess the implementation and effectiveness of internal controls and compliance mechanisms; Provides risk and compliance related report results to management along with recommendations for further improvement; Ensures follow-up * May also conduct walkthroughs to evaluate the effectiveness of internal control design on selected processes or projects; Document findings and report identified deficiencies and gaps * Guides, advises and monitors internal control system across specific areas of activities in scope, in order to mitigate identified risks * Participates in strengthening Compliance Units, Internal Audit, the Global Compliance Office and other Compliance offices * Contributes to the further development and improvement of test plans Selection Requirements and Profile: Must have a university degree or equivalent in accountancy, business administration, human resources or other related disciplines * Significant relevant experience in compliance, internal control or audit, involving international field work/assignments specializing in the field of human resources, finance and administration, and logistics * High attention to detail and strong analytical skills * Dynamic and results driven yet able to work well independently or as part of a team * Flexible and able to travel in any context * Good interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal) with all levels within the organization * Fluent command of written and spoken English; Knowledge of other languages is an asset What we offer: * Diverse and humanitarian-minded workforce * An opportunity to contribute to institutional efforts to protect and assist conflict victims worldwide * Training opportunities * Flexible work schedule Qualified applicants are requested to send their updated and comprehensive resume and cover/motivation letter in one pdf file, following this format for the subject line: SURNAME First Name – Internal Controller.
