Job Summary Job Description and required skills: Must have working knowledge of Linux OS based desktops and servers including Ubuntu, CentOS, etc. Should be aware of Linux File system, SAMBA, NFS, configurations and general Linux CLI commands, troubleshooting procedures, etc Knowledge of cloud administration and management - AWS Relevant certification on system administration - Microsoft, Redhat, etc. Should be adept with terminologies on server, networking, Internet, Wi-Fi, LAN, WAN, Fibre connectivity, Switching, Routing, Firewall, VOIP, Linux, Windows, etc Configure and manage firewall, network switches, Wi-Fi AP and WAN links. Basic connectivity in server racks, systems and distribution switch connectivity Should be able to manage Wi-Fi access, configuration, access points and troubleshooting Should be adept with Windows 7/8/10 and Apple Mac systems desktop operating systems, troubleshooting methodologies, configurations, user profiles and configuring business applications, etc Administration of local desktop and server patch management and Endpoint security (Antivirus) Perform regular local data and IT configuration backup and restore checks Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, File and Active Directory servers, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices, and systems; adds or upgrades and configures printers, and related equipment IT vendor management - interact with vendors and suppliers for AMC, support and troubleshooting issues Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties Maintain an inventory of all IT hardware and software resources Ensure timely user notification of maintenance requirements and effects on system availability Investigate system problems, identify their source, determine possible solutions, test and implement solutions, document for future reference Keep confidentiality and integrity of the company & client data and assets Maintain management reporting structure. Enforce management approved IT Do’s and Don’ts. Maintain and enforce internal and client IT security policies. Maintains excellent communication with the rest of the team on IT policies, tasks and activities. Knowledge sharing with the team members Create and maintain good technical documentation Provide on-site and remote technical support, when in need. Responsibilities may require working in rotational shifts/weekend work in response to the needs of the systems being supported Added skills: Understanding of ITIL, ISO standards and applicability in IT day to day work Change management / change request workflow Basic Windows Server (2008, 2012) administration Site to site and remote VPN VOIP (IP telephony) skills Open source firewall administration Inclination to automate repetitive and mundane IT tasks.
