An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and capable Facilities Technician to join Glasgow Prestwick Airport in this newly created position. Working as part of a team supporting our 24/7 operation, you will be responsible for the routine maintenance, servicing and fault rectification of a wide range of mechanical & plumbing systems within our airport buildings, the airfield and its confines. In this varied role your responsibilities will include BMS, Plant Rooms, HVAC, and Conveyor Systems throughout our facility – so you’ll be able to utilise your strong background in Facilities Maintenance. In addition to your knowledge of the legislative requirements associated with your role, a health and safety qualification would be advantageous, as would prior experience of working in a safety critical environment. Ideally you should have an HNC in one or more engineering disciplines, however relevant NVQ qualifications with suitable proven work experience will be considered. Flexible, pro-active and with a ‘can do’ attitude, you will have the will have the ability build positive relationships with your stakeholders, and to collaborate with other departments to get the job done. As this is a busy role it is essential you have the ability to prioritise your own workload and work with minimal supervision. Being the largest Scottish airport in terms of geographical area it is essential you hold a full UK driver’s license and would be able to pass a medical assessment in order to obtain an airport airfield driving permit.
