Position Description Position Title: General Manager Sales and Business Development Europe Direct Reports: Business Development Managers Location: London Employment Type: Permanent Job Purpose Statement: The General Manager Sales reports to the CEO. The General Manager Sales will be accountable for managing, developing and executing the Sales, Pricing and Yield Strategy and Plan for Company’s products for the European market. The General Manager Sales sets direction by defining the vision, building the business case and plan, and aligning, motivating, and inspiring key stakeholders and sales staff. In addition the General Manager Sales must be successful in attracting and motivating key sales hires across all key areas. The General Manager Sales leadership role lastly entails being ultimately responsible for all day-to-day management decisions and for implementing the Company’s long and short term sales and business development plans and objectives. The purpose of this role is to grow the Company in Europe and to develop the Company’s brand into a iconic brand. In doing so, directly support company growth and generate sales growth through driving all internal and external brand marketing and PR activities and providing sales tools for the Business Development team in line with the agreed brands’ vision and values. This role will also be involved with establishing and supporting business and product development opportunities and managing and coordinating specific business and profit improvement activities, identified by the Company and providing sales analysis and business support to the CEO, COO and the Global Chief Marketing Officer as required. Branding, PR and Design Agencies Environmental associations Industry bodies Sporting bodies Government bodies Media Agencies Key Responsibilities: - Sales Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing monthly and annual sales quotas for sales regions; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products. Implement national and local and national sales programs by developing field sales action plans. Establish and manage business relationships with customer distributors and agents as well as direct customers, both B2B and B2C. Determine annual product unit and profit plans by implementing marketing and sales strategies; analysing trends and results. Key Responsibilities: - Marketing Develop and continually review sales strategy and plans for the Company’s brands. Prepare, review and control budget proposals for all sales and communications expenditure ensuring ROI targets are achieved. Prepare, review and audit all sales communication, to ensure that it is both consistent across both electronic and printed media, as well as targeted appropriately to market segment. Plan and manage local sponsorship, event and tradeshow propositions Analyse both the cost and effectiveness of sales campaigns. Participate in liaison with PR and digital media agencies. Assist with social media for the brand’s social channels to build sales and brand awareness of company’s brands. Proven executive level B2B and B2C Marketing & Sales experience. Knowledge of the Sports & Leisure, Café & Retail, and Health Industries; and and/or Corporate Promotional activities. Excellent project management and time management skills - track record of meeting deadlines and working to budget. Previous experience with sales CRM software. High level presentation skills including written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Expert negotiation skills and understanding of client care. Demonstrated leadership skills to manage a sales team to achieve results. Financial and cost analysis skills. Ability to think innovatively and strategise at both a macro and micro level. Genuine knowledge with digital and social media platforms as well as print and below the line marketing strategies. A genuine interest in and knowledge of current environment issues. In particular, the impact of limited use items on the environment and landfill. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Unit sales by product, by market segment quarter and year. Gross Margin Percentage Profit (GM%): Full sales price achieved less expenses and discounts, unless strategic sale whereas less GM is accepted. Field sales data, including: i) Sell price per unit sold. Sales $ vs Target price per designated quantity. ii) Customer visits per day both target and existing iii) Sales conversions % of leads iv) Customer retention % and sales volume extensions v) New leads and accuracy. Effectiveness of sales strategies, assessed as leads and sales generated. General brand awareness of Company’s brands.
