You’ll collaborate with the solution design, acting in all development fronts and you’ll be able to contribute with your own ideas on how to make our product even better for our customers. Some examples of projects you will be working on: You’ll be monitoring and maintaining production cloud environments, understanding priorities and estimating your work on an ongoing basis. Some of the projects you will be working on could be: Integrating to different accounting systems so we can help more businesses with our solutions Analysing data to provide high quality and insightful information to help our customers make decisions with confidence Enhancing the platform so we can help our customers to get paid faster And perhaps one of your great ideas? =] What you’ll be doing Backend development with the opportunity to work with modern frontend technologies Help manage cloud based resources (eg. AWS application servers) Troubleshooting production environment Contribute with the solution design Taking part in creating technical and functional documentation Create automated tests Support our business team with technical insight when required Create software that is customer-centric and will allow customers to use smart technology to build their businesses Work on a tech stack that includes but is not limited to Java, React, Struts, Spring Boot, jQuery, MySQL and AWS, within a Microservices architecture, with all the benefits that provides Help decide on our next wave of technology and architecture as we grow Work closely with the team and CTO to ensure high quality software design and architecture Collaborate with other team members by working closely together and performing code reviews Role requirements * You will have basic Java and back-end development experience and ideally be interested in developing your Javascript/React skills SQL experience Application servers experience (such as tomcat, glassfish, jboss...) Knowledge of agile methodologies, XP would be a huge pro Knowledge of WS development Version control systems experience (such as git) Good code interpretation and debugging skills Be able to demonstrate a passion for coding and a strong belief in collaborating closely with your colleagues to ensure you’re developing a great product that meets the needs of your customers Be used to talking to non-technical colleagues to understand the business requirements, understanding priorities and estimating your work on an ongoing basis Show demonstrable, practical hands on experience within software development and the ability to work independently in these roles Most likely have experience of working with a variety of different languages and be happy to learn new languages as a part of your new role Demonstrate knowledge and experience implementing design patterns, Test Driven Development, CI/CD and other software development best practices Have experience monitoring and maintaining production cloud environments, ideally AWS Experience with Accounting and Financial applications is desirable (such as MYOB, XERO, MYOB EXO, Sage etc.) In Brief One of the best parts of working at a startup is to be involved in every decision and having the opportunity to make a difference every day. You have solid experience working with Java, you are comfortable working with a Microservices architecture and using AWS to deliver great solutions. Working in a lean startup sounds like music to your ears. You are fluent in English. We don't expect you to be an expert but we will put your programming skills to the test in our interview process, so be prepared for that. If you have a github and/or contributed to an open source project we’ll happily consider that in your application; let us know where we can find some coding you’ve done!
