Job Functions Auditing,Communications,Engineering,Health & Safety,Quality Control Industries Agriculture Specification Qualifications: Grade 12, with preference for a National Diploma/ Degree (Quality or Engineering) or similar Formal training in Quality Management System Lean and Six Sigma Black Belt certification would be advantageous Experience/ Requirements: At least 3 years industry - relevant experience Proven experience in performing Internal audits, writing of procedures, implementation of BRC system, writing Quality and food safety Plans Skills: Ability to conduct sub-contractors and supplier audits Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent computer skills, especially Microsoft applications Ability to analyse results and identify out-of-control conditions, trends and runs Able to run controlled experiments under direction of engineering/ manufacturing Able to discuss technical problems with managers Competencies: Flexible Team leader Good delegator Analytical Proactive Independent Leadership competencies: Driving accountability Drive and Energy Initiating Action Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships Cross-cultural awareness Impact and influence Business understanding Facilitating and maintaining performance Articulating and cascading the vision and values KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE: 1.Plan, co-ordinate and direct quality and food safety programme designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards 2.Develop and analyse statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product 3.Formulate and maintain quality and food safety objectives and co-ordinate objectives with production procedures in co-operation with other plant managers to maximise product reliability and minimise costs of quality 4.Direct, through intermediate personnel, workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products 5.Plan, promote, and organise training activities related to product quality and reliability 6.Investigate customer complaints and report findings and corrective actions back to clients MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE: 1.Provide efficient quality assurance support service Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organisation Set QA compliance objectives and ensure that targets are achieved Assess the product specifications of the company and its suppliers and compare with customer requirements Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation Interact with clients on quality and food safety related matters Consider the application of environmental and health and safety standards Agree standards and establish clearly defined quality methods for staff to apply Define quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff Set up and maintain controls and documentation procedures Identify relevant quality-related training needs and deliver training Collate and analyse performance data and charts against defined parameters Ensure tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and that product modifications are investigated if necessary Supervise technical staff in carrying out tests and checks Write technical and management systems reports Bring together staff of different disciplines and drive the group to plan, formulate and agree comprehensive quality procedures Persuade reluctant staff to change their way of working to incorporate quality methods Liaise with customers' auditors and ensure the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers' specifications Establish standards of service for customers or clients Prepare clear explanatory documents such as customers' charters oMonitor performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports 2.Leadership Establish, guide, direct and oversee the Quality Department in alignment with overall strategy and objectives Identify and timeously address problems and opportunities central to business success Develop and maintain a high-performance team Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders Ensure compliance with relevant legal and statutory requirements, meet principles of sound corporate governance and internationally accepted environmental, health, safety and quality standards Job Closing Date 19/03/2020
