Job Summary: The 3D CAD Mechanical Design Drafter at Zeeco will utilise Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD 2016 to create 3D mechanical designs of flares, burners and valve skids complete with full Bill of Material's (BOMs) as well as piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDS). The Design Drafter will produce full orthographic fabrication drawings, (including dxf files for machine processing of parts), and BOM's for all sub-assemblies. This position requires extensive Inventor and AutoCAD experience within a mechanical engineering/fabrication environment. Functional Job Duties: Analyses project design documents and mechanical specifications / requirements to draft the appropriate equipment for the application. Utilizes Computer Assisted Drafting (CAD) system or equivalent to complete assignments in both 2D and 3D. Prepares various 3D and 2D drawings of mechanical parts, assemblies, and products, including various views, sectional profiles, irregular or reverse views, isometrics, hidden lines and details. Makes arithmetic computations using standard formulas. Assignments may include information on methods, procedures, sources of information, precedents to follow, and more detailed written or verbal instructions from project engineer and/or supervisor. Simple revisions to existing drawings may be assigned with a verbal explanation of desired results. Assists project engineer in ensuring all required drawings are completed within required timescales and meet project and quality requirements. Assists with reviewing customer mark-up prints and disposition of comments. Shop visits and travel to assist with design changes as required per the project and to assist shop personnel with guidelines for production of equipment. Proficiency using Microsoft Office, Word / Excel / Adobe and all Web based systems for design completion. Check own and other Drafter drawings for accuracy. The person: Associate Degree in Drafting or equivalent combination of experience (5+ years drafting/design experience using Autodesk Inventor/AutoCAD in a mechanical engineering environment) Experience in producing mechanical drawings complete with full BOM's. Experience in time management and job prioritisation. Assertive, confident and self-motivated Works well under pressure Great communicator at all levels across the business Further requirements: Lives within a 1-hour commute to the Rutland office Must be able to drive Must be willing to travel worldwide to meet business needs (initial 1-3 months training in the US office)
