As the senior procurement position at the Corporation, the Manager, Procurement provides leadership and direction in all aspects of the procurement function. With the assistance of the Contract & Procurement Administrator, the Manager guides the procurement processes to ensure best value while respecting legal and policy frameworks. As well the incumbent is responsible for departmental goal setting and tracking and reporting on all procurement activity. Additionally, the Manager supports the Corporations computerized procurement systems. All work shall be carried out and properly documented in accordance with standards and Yukon Energy’s policies, guidelines and procedures. The successful candidate will ideally possess a post-secondary procurement designation and have several years’ related experience at a senior level, including at least 10 years’ experience in a computerized environment, preferable in the Energy Industry, Engineering Consulting Industry, or related heavy industry. They will bring demonstrated experience in procurement procedures including: contract drafting; negotiation; policy development and preparation and administration of a variety of competitive bidding instruments (RFI, RFP, ITT, RFQ, etc.) as well as knowledge of public sector procurement. They will be diplomatic, empathetic, a good listener, and solution-focused while recognizing, communicating and enforcing policy and good practice.
