Engineering Technical Coordinator Ref.No.: YELC-2019-026 | Coventry We are currently recruiting for permanent Engineering Technical Coordinator to be based in our Coventry office (travel may be required to our customer sites in the UK and to our Manufacturing sites outside of the UK). The main focus of the role is supporting the Engineering team with the development of a Wiring Harness design based on customer requirements under consideration of all engineering specifications, cost, quality and timing as well as environmental aspects Duties & Responsibilities: Responsible for the Engineering Change Request tracker/database Tracking and controlling all changes and impacts Manage and monitor JLR ECR decks to ensure coverage of applicable Yazaki ECRs Provide (weekly) JLR ECR deck status to engineering management Liaise with Yazaki PM for responses from departments into ECR process in e-matrix Participate in internal CF reviews for ECR status/feedback/implementation timing from all departments Supporting the Late Change Governance Participate in JLR/Yazaki late change governance reviews to feedback/review engineering status of ECRs First point contact (JLR and Yazaki) for engineering input and feedback to the R&O tracker Liaise with Yazaki engineering team (YELC and PTC) for technical feedback on R&O items Liaise with Yazaki sales team for costing feedback on R&O items Support customer ongoing R&O meetings Monitor and report to Yazaki engineering management on JLR SOW requirements Cost, weight and BMV to be tracked on R&O tracker Architectural cost, weight and BMV tracker to be maintained Alert JLR to any design or process which drive inefficiencies into the EDS system Track the mass property value each harness ECRs to be reviewed daily with an efficient flow of ECR processing Responsible for YELC Engineering co-ordination of the VAVE tracking file Represent engineering in CF meetings for VAVE status/strategy (internal/external) Participate in VAVE workshops (internal/external) Ensure VAVE proposals are considered and tracked for XCL implementation Position Requirements: Engineering Degree qualified Experience within a technical coordinator role Background experience with the Harness design environment Trained in VA/VE Engineering change management experience Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent data management experience MS packages Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Ability to be flexible regarding working hours and location Fluent in English Full UK or equivalent Driving Licence Right to work in the UK Valid Passport Please note that Yazaki do not offer work permits, visas or sponsorships.
