Founded in Norway in 1905, Yara has a worldwide presence with sales to 150 countries. Safety is always our top priority. The Application, Tools and Services unit is part of Yara´s Crop Nutrition R&D. It carries out research to develop new applications, tools and services for profitable and sustainable crop solutions for agriculture. This includes ideation, development, testing and documentation activities as well as modelling of crop growth processes and development of algorithms and decision rules for improved nutrient management. The unit works in close cooperation with Yara’s Digital Farming department and the local market organizations all over the world. It also supports the implementation of new solutions by providing scientific data & facts and documenting their final performance in respect to profitability & sustainability. Responsibilities Development and implementation of data mining research projects in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders. Design an appropriate database architecture based on thorough requirement and process analyses. Support efficient data capturing in the technical R&D units and the creation of suitable interfaces with internal and external applications. Ensure database performance and security. Secure database by preparing access and control policies and procedures; implementing disaster recovery procedures. Support application design by contributing expertise to researchers, technical teams and external co-operators. Support the development of innovative tools for knowledge sharing within a multinational company. Profile Scientific degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Science or equivalent. Minimum 3 years of experience in data analytics and database management on the Microsoft platform (SQL Server,. NET, C#, Office). Experience in requirement/process analysis, database architecture, database security, operation systems, database performance tuning, backup strategy. Scientific mindset, combining curiosity and creativity with a structured way of working. Walk-the-talk team-player with a sense for urgency & priorities, good communication and presentation skills. Fluent in English and German, additional languages being an asset. Additional Information The position is temporary for 2 years. The hired candidate will report to the Head of Application, Tools and Services and will be a valuable team member contributing to the execution of R&D activities for Yara with a solution-oriented and added value focus.
