Yarrabee Coal Company a wholly owned subsidiary of Yancoal Australia, based in Blackwater Queensland, 2 hours drive west of Rockhampton. We currently have an exciting opportunity for 4 x Fitters to join our growing team. Position Overview The Engineering Tradesperson – Mechanical will possess a high degree of proficiency and working knowledge of Yarrabee’s plant and equipment; moreover they must be able to perform service and repairs with minimal supervision from the Maintenance Supervisor. Roster: 7:7 roster, rotating Day/Night 12hr Shift Skills Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be a part of a dynamic and motivated team. The role will require you to: Sound communication skills Basic computer skills, word processing and spread sheeting Good fault finding skills on heavy mining equipment Ability to self-manage and prioritise work load Ability to exercise initiative and work both independently and co-operatively as required Skilled in hazard identification and responsive to safety issues Experience and Knowledge Essential Criteria: Previous experience in the maintenance of plant and machinery within a mining or heavy industry environment. Proven previous experience with fault finding on heavy mining equipment. Previous experience with Hydraulic Excavators and electric truck highly regarded. Thorough understanding of individual responsibilities in relation to the Coal Mining Safety & Health Act and associated regulations. Advanced mechanical knowledge on heavy equipment and fault finding.
