Position: Health & Safety Instructor Employment: Full-time (40 Hours/Week) Location: Calgary (some travel within Alberta) Worksite Safety is looking to expand its growing team of instructors. The successful candidate will be an experienced professional with a love of teaching both one-on-one and in front of a group, a background in project management, and a deep understanding of occupational health and safety standards. Training for the instruction component will be provided in the form of train-the-trainer education, instructor shadowing, and co-teaching sessions for Worksite Safety Compliance Centre's training programs. Experience working within the oil and gas, construction or manufacturing industry in a health and safety capacity is preferred. Key Responsibilities: Teach students through lectures, discussions, audio-visual presentations, and hands-on equipment training Prepare, administer, and mark tests Organize, file, and submit student records in a timely manner Participate in instructor training on an ongoing basis Participate in team meetings and development workshops Occasional travel within Alberta Interact with clients to provide health and safety advice and leadership in order to assist in their maintaining compliance Perform safety officer duties on behalf of clients, including: lead meetings, facilitate training, inspections, audits, program updates, and incident reporting Qualifications: A degree, diploma or certificate in occupational health and safety from a recognized post-secondary institution OR five years of recent occupational health and safety experience; Construction/oil and gas experience in a site or safety supervisory role is preferred Experience managing projects and teams is preferred CRSP, CHSC or NCSO designation(s) an asset Ability to work independently Professional instruction experience an asset Public speaking and customer service skills What's in it for you?
