Are you passionate about gender equality? Do you want your work to make a difference? Women in Sport is the leading charity dedicated to Empowering women and girls through sport. With over 30 years’ experience in the sport sector, we’re advancing gender equality through and within sport: empowering women and girls through sport and transforming the sport sector. We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Campaigns and Communications Officer to play an important part in promoting the charity and its impact to a wide range of audiences. This is an ideal role for someone who is looking to gain in-house communications experience within a growing charity. Responsibilities: Day to day management of social media channels including Twitter, Instagram and Facebook Creating exciting content to increase engagement Updating the website regularly Monitoring the impact of the campaigns and growth of social media channels, contributing to the mar-comms reporting Drafting press material Responding to media enquiries Building relationships with existing and new media partners Leading regular media monitoring and keeping abreast of relevant industry news Creating relevant and engaging stories, communications and marketing materials (both offline and online) Drafting and sending the monthly newsletter Managing the photo library Attending relevant events including sports and gender equality conferences The successful candidate will have: Graduate qualification or equivalent Previous experience of working in a marketing or communications role Experience of writing for a wide range of audiences Experience of producing marketing/communications in both print and digital media A solid understanding of online marketing and communications, including professional experience of Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Website CMS Management Excellent copywriting and presentation skills Excellent IT and MS Office skills, specifically Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel Advantageous but not essential the the role: Experience of working in a campaigning and/or lobbying environment Experience of working in the sport or gender equality sector An understanding of the political, cultural and social environments affecting equality and women's sport We are building a team of people who share our ambition and beliefs, have a highly flexible and adaptable approach to work and want their day job to make a difference to society. An interest in women’s sport and/ or gender equality is helpful but you do not need to be ‘sporty’, or be a woman to apply – in fact we value a diversity of experiences of sport in our team.
