CASUAL WORKER DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES TITLE: Casual Museum and Stadium Tour Guide DEPARTMENT: Museum (Part of the Marketing Department) REPORTS TO: Head of Marketing / Museum Lead LOCATION: Molineux Stadium We are Wolves. During a two decade spell the Black Country’s most decorated side won three First Division titles and one of its four FA Cups. Fast forward to 2019, where an incredible two seasons at Molineux has seen Wolves clinch the Sky Bet Championship trophy with 99 points, followed by a seventh-place finish in the Premier League, which included memorable wins over Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Arsenal. But at Wolves it is all about what we will do, not what we have done. We don’t simply look to the future, we seize it. We take seriously our commitment to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults and to ensuring that Wolves is free from discrimination and harassment. _____________________________________________________________ Purpose In recent times, whilst the team have been achieving increased success on the pitch, there has been greater public interest in the Club. People are keen to learn how it is organised and managed, and to see "behind the scenes". For several years Wolves has offered Stadium tours, however since there is an increase in popularity, we now require more casual staff to lead them. The post of casual museum and tour guide is offered on an "as and when" basis with no mutuality of obligation on either side. The candidates we are seeking would need have proven experience and skills as detailed in the person specification. _____________________________________________________________ General responsibilities Compliance with relevant Club policies including safeguarding Compliance with the Club’s health and safety procedures To promote the Club’s values To work consistently to embed equality & diversity into the Club To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected To maintain professional conduct at all times Safeguarding This role involves working with children and/or vulnerable adults in a Regulated Activity (or in close proximity to children and/or vulnerable adults). This means that the post-holder is required to apply all relevant policies and uphold the Club’s commitment to safeguarding vulnerable people. _____________________________________________________________ Key relationships This role requires interaction and polite, informative, friendly communication with fans from all over the world taking part on the tour. _____________________________________________________________ Person Specification Essential Understanding of how to work safely with children and/or vulnerable adults and uphold generally accepted practice when working with those participants. Post-holder will be subject to a DBS check at the appropriate level and cleared by the Wolves Safeguarding Manager. Promote, adhere to and implement the Club’s Equality Policy and to work consistently to embed equality and diversity within Club. Be punctual and adhere to timetables. To always show professionalism and confidentiality in the manner and way you represent the club. Be of smart appearance and exhibit courtesy and politeness to colleagues and visitors alike. Liaise with the tour guide manager and other tour guides when required and be prepared to work in collaboration with them if asked to do so. Desirable To have a clear understanding and appreciation of the significance Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club has in the history and development of our national game. To be aware of the role WWFC has in the social and economic life of the local community and city of Wolverhampton. To be able to quickly develop a rapport with visitors of all ages through good humour and attentiveness to ensure they have a positive and memorable experience of their visit to Molineux.
