We are looking for an experienced technical expert to join the architecture team and support the design and build of our cloud platform. This is a hands-on role where you will work with agile development teams to support them in developing scalable, resilient and flexible solutions. You will report to the Principal Application and Product Architect and work as part of a distributed team working across London and Pune, India. This role would suit a lead engineer who is looking to get more directly involved in architecture work or an existing architect who is keen to work directly with code in building solutions and prototypes. We will expect you to: Work with product managers, UX and development teams to support them in designing and delivering solutions. Become a technical expert in specific areas of the Wolters Kluwer product set. Contribute to the longer-term strategic roadmap for our platform, helping to define the technologies, patterns and protocols that should be in play. Build prototypes to demonstrate design thinking and help to foster the adoption of new technologies. Collaborate with engineers to develop standards that foster best practice. Build strong relationships across the business and act as a technical expert for colleagues in support, sales, product and marketing teams. Keep a watching brief on emerging technology trends that may be applied to Wolters Kluwer. About you... You will either be an existing solutions architect looking for a new challenge or a senior developer who wants to get more involved in architecture. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills that allow you to communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical audiences. You will have significant experience of leading the development of distributed applications for both cloud and on premise using the Microsoft development platform. This should have given you a high level of expertise in the following: Building web applications using C#,. Net Framework and. Net Core Database design and development with SQL Server Designing and delivering scalable REST-based APIs Working with cloud-based systems hosted in Azure Creating build and deployment pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, Team City or Jenkins Any experience of the following would also be of interest: Development of on-premise applications using C# and WPF or WinForms Building rich front-end applications using JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, Ember or Vue Working with cloud-based data services in Azure including SQL Azure, CosmosDB and Azure Storage Working with event-based systems based on messaging platforms such as Azure Service Bus or Rabbit MQ Deploying container-based applications to Azure using Docker Knowledge of software security principles, particularly around common web vulnerabilities Working with applications that have been developed for Azure Service Fabric Other experience that may help you to succeed in the role include: Experience of working with financial systems, particularly in areas such as tax and compliance Exposure to working in large-scale agile environments, particularly using frameworks such as SAFe or LeSS Experience of working for a SaaS vendor.
