Job Summary Position Description: The Quality Engineer inspects manufactured goods at the supplier’s factory and ensures timely completion of the products. He / She also works with all vendors to ensure maintenance of a high quality of the final product and ensures seamless shipping of the product. The Quality Engineer also works alongside vendors in targeted quality improvement programs and in developing quality standards of new products. Also supports general company operations. Reports to: Aditya Vaze, Head of Operations Primary Team Members and Positions: Tim Wilson, Project Manager, Owner Aditya Vaze, Purchasing Akash Ramesh, Engineering Manager Position Type / Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 45 hours per week. Late morning to late evening hours are required in order to have an overlap with the U.S. based team Location Opera House, Mumbai About Us At Wilson Composites, we are manufacturers of custom Fibertech Architectural Fiberglass (FRP) and (GFRC) products for the commercial construction industry. We specialize in the design, engineering, and fabrication. Responsibilities and Duties ** Project Purchasing/Fabrication: 90% of the time Conduct a thorough check of all patterns and at least 50 % of all finished pieces ensuring quality with regards to color matching, dimensions, part finish, texturing, packaging and shipping at 3 manufacturing locations of our suppliers at Bhiwandi, Palghar and Pune Ensure schedule compliance of projects with regards to stipulated deadlines Compile reports in Excel of all parts checked and defects observed on a daily basis Coordinate with drawing team as and when required, to ensure up to date drawings for checking Study and determine areas for improvement of quality with each vendor Work closely with the in-house Quality Engineer at the supplier’s factory to ensure seamless operations Ensure scanning of all parts while shipping, before loading into the container Carry out statistical reports on quality per project, per vendor and per material. Complete documentation and tracking data entry as required, including photo documentation, raw material batch documentation, production dates and more Support general company operations: 10% of the time Assist all teams in all miscellaneous operational tasks Required Experience and Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/ Civil Engineering / Industrial Engineering. Areas of Experience: Two to three years of experience in quality control. Previous work in a manufacturing or construction environment desired. Previous experience with fiberglass, GRC or carved stone a plus. Special skills/requirements: Reasonable math skills and a problem solver. Proficient in latest versions of Microsoft Office. Strong work ethic. Works well as part of a team. Proficient at multi-tasking. Courteous and friendly communicator. Proficiency in AutoCAD is preferred.
