Company Outline: Job Role: Manager - Global Risk Intelligence and Data Location: London, E1 Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 Why do we want you? We want you because you are an experienced Manager who is educated to masters degree level in Political Science or similar i.e. International Relations, Geography, Political Economics. You're an expert Research Analyst or similar with extensive expertise in investigating and documenting information relating to Political, Demographic and Economic risk across the globe. Main Purpose of Role: Our Global Risk Intelligence and Data (GRID) team provides valuable actionable intelligence on global risk to Axco’s clients and partners in the fields of insurance and risk management. It also identifies and builds communities around emerging risks, acting as an independent and impartial industry mutual which promotes debate and analysis to mitigate these exposures. As the manager of the GRID Team, you will be responsible for growing Axco’s presence in the fields of risk and risk management. You will manage workflow and personal performance of a team of researchers/analysts, representing Axco in the marketplace, and determines which risk clusters (i.e climate, technology, terrorism, supply chains) the team will prioritise going forward. The GRID manager’s responsibilities include producing political and economic risk assessments for Axco’s core clients and political risk community, developing and delivering Axco’s annual thought leadership agenda, and identifying and working to build new risk management tools in response to client demand. The GRID manager will also act as an ambassador for Axco in the risk and insurance marketplace, helping to build a robust network of partners to aid in research and market development. The desk/market split is expected to be approximately 80/20. Skills and Experience Required: We always support colleagues to develop their skills but to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to tick most of these boxes... We know it’s not a skill, but the successful candidate must have permission to work in the role’s location by the start of their employment. You will also need; An advanced degree (MA or above) in political science, international relations, development finance or economics Strong knowledge of political risk and/or political economy A compelling and confident public speaking or presenting style An exceptional communicator and relationship-builder A passion for creativity The ability to work autonomously Extensive research capabilities An ability to write in English to the highest level Reading comprehension in a foreign language (Arabic, French, Spanish, Russian or Mandarin advantageous) Up to date knowledge in the area of political risk and/or political economy Experience of insurance risk management techniques An impressive track record of public speaking or presenting Exceptional stakeholder management Be highly organised You need to be the kind of person who… Is passionate about politics, risk and/or insurance Can be creative in setting a team's direction Loves to learn – both knowledge and skills Is a creative question-asker and a solution-finder Is able to work in a fast paced, fun and progressive environment Enjoys a challenge – we work hard, and it can be a steep learning curve Before you go....: Thanks for reading our job advert.
