We are currently seeking a Site Manager (Civil Engineer) responsible for all aspects of site operations from start to completion. The Site Manager will have overall responsibility for the site, will report to the Head of Projects and will liaise closely with the site team to deliver the highest quality work. The Site Manager will oversee all areas of the build from setting out infrastructure works, groundwork, construction through to completion and handover. They must also organise and prioritise the work of the site team,control and co-ordinate the attendance and number of subcontractors on site,resolve queries, problems and conflicts at site level and hold regular site meetings with subcontractors to monitor and appraise key company objectives. Main responsibilities and roles include: Supervising both directly employed site staff and subcontractors Planning and programming all site activities and ensuring handover deadlines are met Attending progress meetings and providing regular updates Ensuring work is completed to a high quality, in accordance with client requirements and specifications Ensure Health & Safety are of paramount importance To regularly review project status ensuring all options have been considered and evaluated to improve construction performance. Ensure commercial challenge at all times Checking drawings & quantities & ensuring that the calculations are accurate for the work Helping with the selection and purchase of materials for use in the construction and their value Planning the work and efficiently organising site facilities in order to meet an agreed programme of deadlines Liaising with any consultants and / or sub-contractors engaged in the project Attending regular meetings with clients and consultants, and keeping them informed of progress Supervising and monitoring the site labour force and monitoring the work of any subcontractors Issuing any relevant permits and ensuring they are implemented correctly Overseeing quality control and safety matters on the site, and ensuring that regulations are up to date Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties, and other problems that may occur Engage with Supply Chain Quality Assurance Development of strong team working relationships Cost risk management and early identification of problematic issues on site Essential requirements Minimum 10 years experience on relevant position, particularly on the construction of Industrial Buildings (experience on pharmaceutical industry will be considered as an asset) Civil Engineering degree Knowledge of MEP related works and able to liaise with the Site MEP Engineer Good communication skills – looking after clients and our supply chain Strong interpersonal, leadership and people management skills Ability to plan all aspects of construction operations MS Office, Autocad, MS Project, Quantity Surveying, Payment Statements English & Portuguese language is a must Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Permanent Language: English (Required) Portuguese (Required)
