Position Summary Working as part of the tight-knit London team, you will be assisting with the financial reporting for the UK entities. Flexible in your approach you will be keen to develop your professional knowledge in a fast-paced and stimulating working environment. Although primarily focused on day-to-day operational matters, you will also work across a wide range of projects. You can anticipate unforeseen challenges and will be both resilient and pragmatic in your approach to managing change. Supporting the London Financial Accounting function, you will develop a good understanding cross boarder accounting. You will also work closely with regional Finance Managers and our Shared Service team in Manila and Tampa. Aware of the contribution that you can make to enhancing overall financial reporting function, you will be confident in speaking up and proactively look for ways to make a difference and implement process improvements. Our Finance Team The London Finance team is led by the EMEA Finance Director and is made up of approximately 30 team members. Its core functions include inventory management, statutory accounting, financial planning, pricing, accounts payable, payroll and treasury. Being at the heart of EMEA, our roles stretch well beyond London boarders. Working with us will enable you to become a great professional, and develop a uniquely broad range of experience to draw on throughout your career. Duties and Accountabilities Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts for all UK registered entities (3 LLPs and 5 Limited companies including 3-consolidated set of accounts with the entities including various investments, subsidiaries in Poland/Finland/Sweden/Czech Republic/Turkey/South Africa and Italy). This will involve working closely with the 2 other Financial Accountants, Head of Accounting in EMEA. Maintaining books for various UK entities in multiple currencies, including balance sheet reconciliations. Dealing with external auditors’ queries concerning statutory accounts and tax computations. Preparation of schedules and dealing with queries from the tax accountants. Assisting with VAT submissions and EC sales list for 5 entities. Qualifications Nearly or newly qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent Knowledge of UK GAAP/ FRS102 and relevant accounting standards for law firms (e.g. LLP SORP) Experience in producing financial statements under UK GAAP for Limited Companies and LLPs is essential Exposure to international GAAP and consolidation is desirable but not essential Experience of 3E is desirable Knowledge of the Solicitor’s Accounts Rules desirable but not essential Prior Involvement in statutory audit and dealt with external auditors is desirable Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel Must be working in or have worked within professional services, preferably law firm experience Must be self-motivated, highly organized, accurate, with strong attention to detail and be able to work with minimal supervision Flexible and enthusiastic with the ability to manage own workload, priorities and deadlines Can do attitude with the ability to identify and solve problems quickly Location and Reporting This is a permanent role based in London with potential for international travel This role reports to the Head of Accounting - EMEA in London Our standard office hours are 09.30 – 18.00 The Firm may modify and amend this job description at any time at its sole discretion. 1The above is a general description of the essential duties associated with this position and does not represent an exhaustive or comprehensive list of all duties.
