The Whim Hospitality family of services includes Whim Catering, Whim Florals, Whim Event Rentals, and Whim Tents, as well as Camp Lucy, A Texas Wine Country Resort and Tillie's Restaurant and Bar. Job Summary Staff Accountant provides support to the finance and accounting management in daily reviewing, updating and completing daily activity reports. This position also supports our operation and management teams in providing accurate and timely daily reporting. This particular position will be focused on daily revenue balancing and cash/credit card reconciliation and verification and will work with management and operations to ensure accurate and timely daily reporting and month-end close. Primary job duties and responsibilities: Daily review and balancing of daily activity in all of our operating systems. Updating the daily activity journal and ensure proper coding of all revenues and settlements. Daily review and reconciliation of all cash/checks and credit cards received and/or processed. Maintain the daily cash journal Ensure the AR and deposit balances are balanced on a daily basis for all the different operating systems Assist Accounting Management with any projects assigned Assist the AR Staff Accountant and monitoring new contracts, deposit schedules, and collections as needed Assist with accounts payable entry as needed Ensure proper filing of all documentation Complete any other task as assigned by the Senior Staff Accountant or Director of Finance. Qualifications and Skills Accounting or Finance degree preferred; accounting work experience can substitute for a degree - preferably in the hotel/resort or event management industry. Experience working in various PMS/POS systems. Understanding of revenue recognition and basic accounting standards. Highly detailed and organized. Knowledge and experience in using excel spreadsheets and 10-key.
