About the Role: We are currently seeking a Director of Human Resources and Engagement at our Dubbo office. The Director of Human Resources and Engagement is a member of the executive team reporting to the CEO. The Director of HR and Engagement is responsible for the leadership of operational and strategic human resource functions. This includes the leadership and management of industrial and employee relations, recruitment, learning and development, workforce analytics, investigations and reporting. In addition the role is responsible for leading and managing through appropriate KPIs the engagement with Westhaven key stakeholder groups including staff, clients their families, allied health professionals and the wider community that Westhaven works with. This role is for someone who is passionate about engagement, culture and all aspects of the participant, employee and members experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Lead policies and procedures development, review and updates. Lead and manage HR processes and make recommendations for ongoing change that are aligned to the Westhaven Strategy and Operational Plan. Manage the workplace investigation process across the organisation, ensuring compliance with relevant governing bodies. Provide organisational-wide information by interpreting people data and analysing figures on staff turnover, cost per hire. Manage the complaints and grievance procedures to ensure that issues are resolved in a proactive manner. Formulate, implement and maintain a successful workforce capability framework. In consultation with the Chief Financial Officer, develop, implement, manage and regularly review the Human Resources and training budget in line with Westhavens Strategic Plan. Lead the negotiation and monitoring of industrial agreements, cost any changes, in order to seek improved working arrangements and deliver in negotiations. Engage with key stakeholders, including participants, families, and staff in order to leverage data to establish innovative ways to improve engagement. Ensure participant experience is constantly referred to when changing or designing processes within Westhaven. Responsible for monitoring and reviewing HR risk issues, including coaching development of team strategies and practices to mitigate operational risk. Building a passionate, empowered, engaged and capable workforce. Responsible for continuous quality improvement and compliance frameworks within HR and Engagement. Actively participate in, understand and lead the deployment of the organisation's strategic and operational plans. Support the CEO in formal strategic discussions with the Board and leadership team about HR and Engagement Skills & Experience: MUST reside in and hold full working rights in Australia. Post graduate qualification in Human Resources, Management and/or Business and or; a proven track record record in management and leadership within the community or public sector, with significant ment focus through the adoption of innovative systems. Previous experience in Human Resources Management within social services settings prefered Proven capacity to operate both strategically and operationally with expertise in strategic development and execution across a range of human resources, organisational and cultural change programs Provide high level, timely and professional advice to managers and staff in relation to all HR matters, including current employment legislation and awards, employee relations, change management, HR planning, retention, performance management and organisational development Proven ability to effectively engage, build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders including participants, staff, members and community. Experience of workplace planning in organisation with similar complexities. Ability to analyse, interpret and present complex data and build business cases supported by clear evidence Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and sustain strong business partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, with strong negotiation skills and the ability to gain cooperation and influence views. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of HR reports and analytics. Current working knowledge of HR developments, legislation and practice relevant to the industry Ability to set out clear strategic direction, while inspiring and empowering others. The ability to translate strategic objectives into operational plans.
