We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to lead an innovative team in the Processing Laboratory within Manufacturing & Distribution Department at the Welsh Blood Service (WBS). Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Welsh Blood Service to produce Components to be used for transfusion throughout Wales. You will be joining a team with substantial experience of delivering continual improvement in the quality and safety of blood component manufacture through sharing best practice and standardisation within the UK network of blood transfusion professionals. We looking for a HCPC registered biomedical scientist with expertise in blood component manufacture, quality assurance and statistical process control. The role will provide scope to apply your specialist knowledge, strong communication skills, team working and leadership skills to the multi-disciplinary team and wider WBS, to address the challenge of delivering a consistent and high standard of manufacturing blood components. Applicants will need a strong understanding of the application of GMP to the manufacture of blood components. The position is based at the WBS headquarters in Talbot Green. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are welcome. This is a permanent position. Closing date: 22/01/2020
