We have a great opportunity for a Mobile Desktop Engineer to join our Group IT team based in Leatherhead, providing a full range of support to offices and sites across the Southern regions. Reporting into the Desktop Support Manager, you will be responsible for providing remote 2nd line support to business users, where the Service Desk have progressed the respective incident or request as far as they can. Key Accountabilities of a Mobile Desktop Engineer will include: Accept incidents and requests from the Service Desk and resolve them, updating the relevant tickets in the Service Management Tool Coordinate and carryout desktop & mobile device replacements in line with desktop replacement strategy Liaise with Asset and Configuration Management, for assets and licences to be correctly assigned/disposed of within process. Project work, including providing inputs into Impact Assessments. Patch management for desktops and laptops in the Wates environment Effective management of queues to meet agreed SLAs and KPIs Assist site set-up team where required - Set up new users’ equipment, including installing required applications above the base build within agreed SLAs Weekly reporting to the business units on service delivery progress and monthly reporting as requested by management We are looking for you to be an experienced IT professional with HNC / HND or greater qualification in a related technical discipline (Computer Studies / Engineering) and ITIL v3 Foundation certificate. You will have knowledge of Microsoft products, AD and desktop builds and be always keen to learn new technical products. To be successful in the role you will be a confident communicator at all levels; able to explain technical information in a simple way and be able to prioritise your own workload to deliver a good customer service always. This role will be based in Leatherhead, but will require travel and occasional overnight stays.
