Responsible for advising customer workforce on technical issues arising on day to day basis in railways workshop. Having co-ordination between GETS HQ teams and site by reporting issues promptly and bring solution at fast pace. Role summary: The Technical Specialist is responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity in the area of locomotive maintenance. Follows an individual work plan and meets day-to-day short-term objectives for locomotive maintenance. Has the ability to resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. Provide technical guidance to employees and management mainly for maintenance including troubleshooting and locomotive servicing - knowledge of material handling, tooling, safety procedures, and contract requirement is also required as an additional responsibilities Provide clear communication to employees, customer management and GE management on work to be performed, equipment status, productivity, and process improvements Work with employees and management to promote, maintain, and drive continuous improvement in safe work practices while monitoring productivity, quality assurance, and adherence to contract requirements Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations, OSHA work practices and industry / site specific work rules Work with employees and management on establishing production plans for labor, material and logistics Work with various software systems to manage material, labor plans, and other systemic requirements Qualifications: · Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a minimum two years’ experience for locomotive maintenance or college or an Associate's engineering degree in mechanical/electrical plus a minimum of 4 years professional work experience working in area of locomotive maintenance or alternately having 6 years back ground/experience of diesel engine, electrical rotating machinery, electrical control maintenance in any stationary power plant environment Willingness and ability to work various shifts various days Willingness and ability to work in shop environment Characteristics: · Proficiency in MS office applications Bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical Engineering is preferred Strong oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Proven analytical and quality improvement ability Able to interface at all levels of the organization both internally and externally Wabtec Corporation is committed to taking on the world’s toughest challenges.
