WSB is accepting applications for transportation planners with up to five years of experience in a wide variety of project areas, including: transit planning, pedestrian and bicycle planning, highway and corridor planning, and federal environmental documents. Depending upon experience, the employee may be based out of the Minneapolis, St. Paul or Burnsville offices. What You Will Do: Your specific duties will vary, but will generally include participating in transportation planning, environmental documentation, public outreach and grant writing projects. Typical projects include: long-range plans, corridor studies, sub-area plans, pedestrian and bicycle plans, implementation plans, federal environmental documents, and grant applications. As part of job, you will be expected to complete technical analyses, write sections of reports/memos, assist in the development of materials for the public and governmental agencies, and provide assistance as directed by senior staff. You must be able to clearly communicate ideas both verbally and in writing. In terms of technical skills, you will be expected to be able to apply transportation methods, planning principles, and standard industry evaluations and analyses with input and guidance from senior staff. Strong written communication skills are a must. What You Will Bring: The successful candidate will have either a master’s degree in transportation, urban planning, civil engineering or related field from an accredited program or a bachelor's degree in similar fields and a minimum of two years of applicable experience. You must be willing to take your AICP exam when you are eligible to do so. You must possess a valid driver’s license, have a clean driving record, and have the ability to get to project locations for meetings, field walks, etc. Who We Are: WSB is a design and consulting firm specializing in engineering, community planning, environmental, and construction services.
