As we continue to grow, we are now seeking an outstanding Country Head of Finance to bring our end-to-end Finance activities to a best-in-class level. The incumbent will lead the finance function for the Korea business and will be a strategic partner to the Country Managing Director. He/she will have demonstrated business partnering experience and should have the leadership ability to provide business insights and drive impact in a professional, assured manner. Success criteria The position has two key objectives: 1. Trusted advisor and business thought partner Provides insight and analysis to support the General Management on risk matters, financial status, budget and forecasting, M&A and strategic decision making. Ensures that business decisions are grounded in sound financial criteria. 2. Financial guardian Responsible for the financial statements and financial internal/external controls of the company’s activities in Korea, as well as the supervision of administrative systems and procedures in adherence with the local and Group policies. Assumes full responsibility for the organization’s financial and tax plans and policies, including implementation. Development of the Finance strategy for the country that is consistent with and supports the organization’s short-term and long-term objective. Responsible for the financial and tax management of the operation, with the support of Strategic Growth Finance and Group Finance, as necessary. Ensures that the necessary systems of internal control are in place and effective. Ensures compliance with external and internal policies and procedures. Performs cost and profitability analysis on reported financials; proposes corrective actions and follow up. Develop and administer tax policies, to minimize the Group’s tax liability and ensure compliance with local laws and regulations and optimize the Group’s tax position, in coordination with Group Taxes. Co-responsible for the annual budgeting with the GM, the forecast and 5-year plans preparation in collaboration with Strategic Growth & Group finance. Build, lead, assess and develop a highly effective, professional team to achieve established departmental targets. Support group/global projects. The position is based in Seoul and will have a dual reporting to Country MD and the Head of Finance, APAC. The incumbent will be supported by a team of 5 FTEs together with the outsourced finance function. Since the country is in a ramp-up mode, the ideal candidate will have to possess a good mix of strategic mind-set and strong operational experience. Business Acumen: An entrepreneurial self-starter who has significant experience in an MNC environment. At least 8 years of experience in finance in a manufacturing environment. Experience in being an active hands-on business partner to executive leadership. Experience in establishing and maintaining financial records systems in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards and accounting principles. Excellent understanding of local tax rules and legislation, both direct and indirect, in addition to international accounting rules (IFRS). Strong experience in driving change programs. Retail experience is a plus but not a necessary requirement; the incumbent should have a good sense for the needs of the sales organization. Leading Teams: Strong formal and informal leadership skills to effectively define and implement a functional agenda and to be an inspirational leader. Ability to motivate and collaborate with teams directly or indirectly across a matrix structure to produce quality work within tight time-frames. Integrating personality and a strong team player with profound collaboration skills.
