Role: Joining a small team of R&D engineers in field of telecommunications as a Field Applications Engineer. Duties: Deployment and testing of LPWAN radio solutions including field trials Create proof of concept systems, typically front-end sensor network Study competing IoT IC technology and solutions Produce technical literature for LPWAN and other IoT IC products Assist with business development of LPWAN and IoT IC products Travel in UK and EU likely Required: Degree in Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering Experience of radio-heads installation, drive tests and data analysis for broadcast or cellular RF systems Hands-on knowledge of development on hardware platforms such as Raspberry Pi, Arduino, others Understanding of one or several wireless PHY and MAC protocol stacks and systems Strong analytical problem-solving ability Interest in the application of technology to grow a business Positive, entrepreneurial spirit Resourceful and able to work on own initiative Supportive team player Preferred: Knowledge of network dimensioning and planning concepts and preferably experience of using coverage prediction tools Knowledge of spectrum usage in licensed and unlicensed frequency bands Some software experience in MATLAB, C/C++/C# in.
