The Data Communications Team at Vollmer is looking to hire a Security Technician. They will be responsible for installing and programming intrusion alarm systems, installing and configuring CCTV systems, as well as installing and programming access control systems. Candidates must be able to work independently and have the knowledge of interpreting plans and specs. The successful applicant must have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment, as well as being hands on and mechanically inclined. The following items are considered requirements for this job: - Extensive knowledge of intrusion alarm systems, CCTV systems, and access control systems - Knowledge of standard hand tools and construction tools - Valid current Ontario Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract The following items are considered assets for this job: - Experience in any of the following areas: installing, terminating and testing all types of communication cabling, such as category 6, coaxial and fibre optic cabling - Certifications or credentials related to this trade - Working at Heights Training - Elevated Work Platform Training - Worker Safety Awareness Training This is a unionized position that offers a very competitive wage package, which includes both benefits and RRSP’s.
