We have the below vacancy available in our Organisation: The Executive Head of Department: International Business Performance Optimisation is based within International Business Unit. Role Purpose: The role of EHOD: International Business Performance Optimisation is to guarantee successful execution and delivery of strategic projects, resulting in improved business performance across all the Vodacom International Markets. In close partnership with the Chief Officer: International Business, this role will help set the agenda for subsidiary companies and be accountable to ensure strong performance against this agenda, as measured through key performance metrics. The incumbent will hold a strong financial/commercial background, coupled with good project management skills and in-depth knowledge of the business, industry and dynamics across the African geography. Responsibilities & key decision ownership: Accountabilities: Build and maintain strong working relationships with the Managing Directors and executive teams of subsidiary companies. Understand the operational challenges and strengths of the subsidiary companies (financial, commercial, process, people). Translate the Vodacom International Business strategy, and set the agenda for execution in the subsidiary companies. Provide a single point of contact for all data collected from the subsidiary companies for reporting purposes to Vodacom Group. Monitor and report on the business performance of subsidiary companies, and consolidate information and data to produce high quality Exco, Ops Review, FRRC and Board reports Apply analytics, review business intelligence and provide expert input to the subsidiary companies, international management teams and other stakeholders. Recommend measures for short/medium term improvement and strategies for sustainable long term performance. Share accountability of the performance being achieved within the subsidiary companies. Recommend and implement best practices, identify synergies, evaluate ROI, develop performance optimisation plans, obtain approval and implement programmes that drives ongoing business performance improvement Work with subsidiary companies to deliver solutions that leverage on existing Group/Vodafone wide know-how and experience. Direct/focus centres of excellence and shared services to deliver a coordinated/holistic result to subsidiary companies. Monitor quality and subsidiary satisfaction. Share accountability for the successful execution of international projects and processes in the subsidiary companies (resolving disputes, removing impediments, maintaining strategic alignment etc.) Ensure regular and timely flow of information to Vodacom Group from the operating companies Skills, experience, qualifications and competencies: University Degree or equivalent in a Finance, Commercial, Legal or Business discipline (postgraduate preferred) 10+ years’ business and project management experience with minimum of 2 years’ experience operating at Executive level in a telecommunications related industry. Solid track record of applying commercial judgement to achieve effective results. In-depth knowledge of company business and financial markets, market developments and the legal and regulatory framework in local markets and region. Managing and building relationships at Executive level Detailed understanding of governance and decision making across the business Effective stakeholder engagement and relationship building Working knowledge of project management methodologies and tools Working knowledge of the fundamentals of financial analysis and budget process Thorough understanding of the ICT Market and in particular, Telecommunications products, services, technologies and business processes Strong business acumen at Executive level Closing date for applications: 17 March 2020.
