A Junior Development Test Engineer at Verimatrix participates in the creation of a large product suite that enables content protection and security for video delivered via satellite, cable, or the Internet. The development test engineer collaborates with his/her teammates to deliver high-performing, scalable, high-quality products. The engineer should enjoy working through the software development lifecycle. A successful engineer will be proactive, interactive, creative, and flexible. The engineer will need to learn and understand the entire Verimatrix product suite as well as gain deep technical knowledge of particular solutions in the group he/she joins. We are a global company and appreciate people with global awareness and knowledge (languages other than English are a bonus). Some tasks the development test engineer will have Develop software for testing the Verimatrix products which manage premium video content in various environments Work closely with the teams to ensure coordinated and appropriate testing of the product suite across test types (functional, system, etc.) throughout the product development lifecycle Participate in discussions dealing with requirements, designs, testing features, functionality, and defect repairs Estimate tasks Contribute to test automation efforts across the engineering department Set up and maintain the development test environments and systems Prioritize issues found and escalate risks/issues as necessary Provide tier 3 technical support as needed Others as assigned This position reports to a Development Manager within the Development Team. Required Qualifications 1 or more years development or test engineering work experience 1 or more years object-oriented coding experience particularly in Java, Python (more than 1 language is a big plus) Some development or testing experience or significant coursework with Linux Network (TCP, UDP, etc.) Client/server distributed architecture Relational Databases (use of basic SQL commands) Ideally exposure to programming/test-automation using Python (or equivalent) API / Back-End Testing Networking libraries Scripting Strong analytical skills with attention to detail Solid communication skills including documentation Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience Each of the Following would be a Plus Ability to think like a customer to anticipate real world challenges and test for them Agile software lifecycle experience, particularly scrum Experience with Docker containers and container deployment systems (Kubernetes) Cloud experience, AWS or other DevOps and Jenkins Distributed version control systems, git or GitHub Android or iOS development and/or test experience Embedded software development and/or test experience, particularly in Linux set top boxes Network packet monitoring tools (such as Wireshark) RDMBS, particularly Oracle, development and/or test experience (administration experience a bonus) Security protocols, cryptography, PKI, SSL/TLS experience Server and application programming and/or testing in Linux, OS X, or Windows (2 or more a plus) Service-oriented architecture Troubleshooting skills to help get to the bottom of tricky issues reported both internally and externally Virtualization About Verimatrix Verimatrix (Euronext Paris – VMX) is redefining the standard for connected devices and services with an innovative combination of security and data analytics that maximizes revenues, protects reputations and enables growth.
