VMCA Accountant - Verathon® Verathon® is seeking a talented Accountant to work in a fast-paced, high tech, manufacturing environment located in our Burnaby B.C. office. The accountant is responsible for a variety of general accounting duties and reports directly to the controller. Principal Responsibilities: Under the guidance of the Controller, ensure compliance with corporate internal control processes and accepted accounting standard Maintain full-cycle of General Ledger accounting including AR, AP, Fixed Assets and GL Manage inter-company and miscellaneous accounts receivables and collections Maintain accurate records of fixed assets and related depreciation schedules Update numbers in Fixed Asset database for US taxes. Monitor Construction- In-Progress accounts and ensure compliance with company policies and Capitalization limits Support controller in various ad-hoc projects including Standard Cost Roll-up and quarterly International Transfer pricing review Assist in monthly closing activities. Prepare journal entries, and balance sheet. reconciliations utilizing BlackLine software. Prepare month-end variance analysis reports and assist with RND project cost and time tracking Provide assistance and supporting documentation for internal and external auditors and government audits Assist Controller in filing of Tax, mandatory GST/PST returns and SRED costing working papers Working with Controller towards a goal of continuous improvement within Accounting/Finance department Assist with Accounts Payable issues and resolution Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor’s degree required – emphasis in Accounting/Business Management/Finance strongly preferred Designated Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or close to designation preferred 5+ years of directly related accounting/finance experience with proven record of increased responsibility required Works independently and has strong organizational and time management skills Strong understanding of computerized accounting systems, experience with ERP packages and advanced proficiency in Excel Ability to perform diverse and complex financial activities with monitored end results Experience working in accounting/finance in a manufacturing environment, preferred Comfortable with having to adjust to changes in work environment, work under pressure with a sense of urgency, and meet tight deadlines Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees/customers and align and integrate with other departments and locations About Verathon: Verathon is a global medical device company focused on supporting customers by being their trusted partner, delivering high-quality products that endure over time and ensure clinical and economic utility.
