Procurement Specialist (Transportation) - £250- 300per day – Midlands Venn Group is currently recruiting for a Procurement and Sourcing Specialist for a large Transportation client based in the Midlands. The role: Drive the development, implementation and evaluation of the local procurement strategies and ensure documentation to support this is up to date Manage the sourcing and contract negotiation of the transport category Lead or participate in cross functional commodity teams to build strategies and to run tenders, insure implementation and performance management Propose and execute cost/service improvements for the categories within their responsibility. Execute risks assessments and mitigate risks Mitigate critical supply situations. Screen supply markets for innovating opportunities and inform the relevant internal stakeholders The ideal candidate will have: Bachelor degree or equivalent working level preferably in Economics and/or Procurement and/or Transportation 4-6 years’ experience within a similar field- preferably within a multinational company Proven experience in strategic supplier and contract management (supplier selection, vendor rating and evaluation, business review, complaint & claim handling) Preferably experience in one or more of the subcategories managed (Transportation subcontractors) Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment Trained negotiator Experience in process efficiency and change management.
