Location: Mississauga Job Summary: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for Recruiting, Employee Onboarding, Disability Management, Health & Safety, HRIS administration along with assisting with day to day functions in the Human Resources Department. The HR Generalist requires strong analytical and communication skills and is expected to be a conceptual thinker with fantastic organizational skills. This role requires strong decision-making skills with a deep understanding of employee relationships and staffing management. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Sort and pre-screen candidates using an Applicant Tracking System (ADP Workforce Now) and identify potential candidates Assist with the recruitment process by interviewing, conducting reference checks and issuing employment contracts. Conduct criminal/reference checks, and drug and alcohol tests. Input and maintain employee data in ADP Workforce Now, and eCompliance. Assign health & safety training to employees. Conduct exit interviews. Lead company-wide Health & Safety calls bimonthly and participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee Meetings. Research Health & Safety legislation. Report and monitor workers compensation claims on a weekly basis. Contact injured employees and discuss suitable modified duties. Act as the first point of contact for general employee HR inquiries and escalate as required. Prepare documentation such as verification of employment. Produce and submit reports on general HR activity. Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices. Perform any other duties as required. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE University degree or College Diploma in Human Resources or other related field. Previous experience in full cycle recruiting. Previous experience in a health and safety, claim management for Canada & US. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of current legislation in Employment Standards, Occupational Health and Safety Act. Ability to work well in a team environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software applications (Excel, Word, etc.)
