RESPONSIBILITIES: To assist the Workshop Manager in carrying out maintenance responsibilities by attending to technical problems and other related issues in the allocated area of responsibility in accordance with the UP standard and the Client’s specific needs while ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations. To enable the senior technician to achieve the objective he/she will need to attend to the following: Attend to the planned maintenance tasks allocated to him/her. Attend to the more complex demand maintenance task allocated to him/her; Assist the technicians where needed and provide advice; Operate plant and equipment in accordance with the University’s business requirements. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A National Certificate (N5) in Electronic Engineering; Product Specific certification in CCTV, Alarms and Access Control Systems; Four (4) years’ experience; Valid drivers’ licence. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES): Sound knowledge of the following: Access control system; CCTV systems; Alarm systems; Fire detection systems; Appropriate language and communication skills; Administrative skills to ensure that all records are kept in orderly fashion; Computer literacy in MS Office.
