The Coordinator, Student Loans administers all phases of student loan processing that include loan transmittal, cancellation of loans, and modification of loans. The coordinator oversees reconciliation of loan balance utilizing records from the student information system and the Department of Education. DUTIES Transmits loan records to be guaranteed Cancels and returns loan funds due to ineligibility Imports transmitted funds and loan information into loan system and modifies information as necessary Provides loan information to students, lenders, etc. Discusses loan products and procedures with vendors MARGINAL DUTIES Perform other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Direct Reports: None Delegation of Work: N/A Supervision Given: N/A KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge: Knowledge of trends, issues, and accepted practices relevant to the position Skills: Candidates must have strong analytical and problem solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills Abilities: Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community WORK LOCATION AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS Primary Work Location: Works in an office environment 6 to 8 hours Physical Demands: Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements. Position is physically comfortable; individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. Occasional lifting, pushing, climbing, and pulling may be required.
