As the Legal & Compliance Analyst within the Operations unit you will resolve legal and compliance tickets, complete contract reviews, and address data processing questions and concerns while providing guidance and education to Unbouncers on all things legal/privacy. Reporting to the InfoSec & IT Manager, and partnering with the InfoSec & GRC Analyst, you'll collaborate with the Operations unit as well as the rest of the organization to provide legal expertise in support of our customers and internal initiatives. You'll help create and implement legal and compliance policies, procedures, standards and related controls that ensure adherence to our regulatory responsibilities. You'll be our in-house legal and compliance subject matter expert whilst being supported by our external legal counsel and DPO and you'll be the key Operations unit partner in coordination of trademark and patent processes, and will help us achieve our shared business goals. Your Key Responsibilities: Ensure smooth delivery of internal legal and compliance escalations by providing expertise for multiple teams across Unbounce Communicate with team members, peers, and senior management to ensure alignment between Operations and other teams such as Sales and Customer Success Set good practice for Unbounce as a whole in compliance. Set standards and processes, put in place tools and templates, educate Unbouncers Legal and compliance external escalations from Customer Success and Sales: questions, forms, calls Serve as the point of contact for all legal, data privacy, and compliance efforts Perform Data privacy and Compliance reviews Vendor contract reviews, risk assessment/management Address questions, and manage changes to Unbounce's TOS, DPA, Privacy Policy & AUP Serve Cease & Desist orders and communicate AUP, TOS, License, Trademark and IP violations to offenders Support GDPR, PCI and other attestation processes Review and definition of policies, standards, and methodologies Maintain up-to-date detailed knowledge of the data privacy regulations and best practices, and conduct training to promote information security awareness A little bit about you: Have solid understanding of regulatory as well as industry security frameworks including GDPR and PCI Are familiar with contract process and language specific to the security and GRC programs Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, research and analytical skills Have proven ability to interact with co-workers, clients, and third party vendors with tact and diplomacy adopting a customer first approach Have experience with policy creation, development and associated lifecycle management activities Have the organizational acumen to keep track of all of the various complex moving pieces involved in a project or ongoing operations of a business Are outgoing and personable and demonstrate strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills Thrive in a constantly changing, fast-paced and deadline-driven environment, managing multiple tasks with ease Are disciplined, conscientious and wired to complete tasks, instinctively knowing how to balance a situation and get the job done in a timely manner Have superior critical thinking skills. You can collect and evaluate data from different perspectives and determine the best path forward Possess a university degree in Law, Ethics or Business Administration, or a relevant combination of experience and education Possess at least one professional certification related to data privacy, compliance, and/or information security Have spent 3 plus years in legal and compliance roles Nice to haves: Legal or Paralegal education and certification a definite asset Privacy and Compliance certifications (IAPP, CIPP, CIPP/E, CCEP, CCEP-I) Prior experience as a Data Protection Officer (DPO) or Contract and Legal Analyst Knowledge of standards, regulations and law governing the security and privacy of information (NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, NIS) and/or understanding of the following control and program frameworks, OWASP, CSC, COBIT, ISO 27k, and OSFI Prior experience in SOC2, ISO27001, or Privacy Shield certification projects Prior experience in negotiation, mediation and/or arbitration HENq4XGc81
