Part-time Transport Manager We need someone special. Main Duties: To promote, develop and manage the most effective use of community transport resources within the Test Valley Borough Council area, in order to increase travel opportunities for individuals and groups. 1. Operational management of the Test Valley Community Transport Scheme, including the Test Valley Dial A Ride services, school contracts and accessible cars, 2. Staff management of paid staff and volunteers. 3. Financial reporting 4. Marketing and promotion of services 5. Business Development Tasks: Manage the fleet of vehicles and transport facilities and provide community transport services for eligible customers, including Dial A Ride, group hire, and individual services on demand. Develop new services for transport including improving utilisation rates, increasing business through excursions, new routes and other income generating opportunities to improve income Manage paid staff and a pool of volunteer minibus and car drivers based in Andover, Stockbridge and Romsey. Arrange the recruitment of new drivers Organise the rostering of staff and delegate work, to ensure adequate staffing for Shopmobility opening hours. Training & Development: Training will be offered and/or available to the post holder as appropriate to the tasks. Transport Manager Person Specification 1. Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to establish a good working relationship with a range of people * 2. Ability to manage and supervise staff * 3. An understanding of equal opportunities and a commitment to equality and diversity * 4. IT skills/microsoft office/internet/email * 5. Good numeracy and ability to compile financial reports * 6. Good administrative and organisational skills * 7. Experience of working in passenger or community transport would be preferrable 8. Flexibility in working hours * 9. Full appropriate driving licence and use of own transport * 10. Ability to handle emergencies, be flexible in work patterns and plans, and cope with multiple tasks * Benefits: Flexible working hours Job Types: Part-time, Permanent Salary: £15.00 /hour Experience: Transportation Management: 1 year (Preferred)
