Trotter & Morton Industrial Services is looking to add a Junior Industrial Mechanical Estimator to our Industrial Team to work on existing and future projects. The successful candidate will be an individual who is looking to grow with Trotter & Morton, who shares our entrepreneurial spirit, and who is looking for a long term partnership with an exceptional company. The Junior Industrial Mechanical Estimator will support business units during all phases of the project life-cycle, working on a full-range of Industrial projects to analyze costs, prepare estimates, and provide technical and cost support to project operations. Roles and Responsibilities Review bidding requirements issued by clients Interpret documentation, specifications, and drawings Prepare quantity take-offs for labour and material costing Prepare submission schedules and manpower loading profiles Review and evaluate vendor and sub-contractor quotes Finalize and compile tender documents for review and submission Prepare accounting control budget and project team support for execution Establish and maintain vendor and subcontractor relationships Follow company policies and procedures, including Trotter & Morton’s Health & Safety program Perform other duties, as required Required Skills Attention to detail supported by strong analytic skills Thrives on managing multiple priorities and project deadlines Proven ability to close complex tenders, bids and proposals Strong computing background, including experience with MS Office and Estimating software packages (Accubid, Hard Dollar, P6, MS Project experience an asset) BIM/VDC experience an asset Excellent written and verbal communication skills Required Experience A Mechanical technical diploma or degree Construction or Engineering background 1-3 years of estimating in the following: Waste & water treatment, Agri-foods, and/or other medium industrial fields Fluent in reading mechanical, electrical, process and control drawings, single line drawings Additional Requirements Travel may be required This is a full-time position.
