TransCare Community Support Services is a charitable not-for-profit corporation dedicated to providing home and community support services for people who need assistance due to illness, convalescence, disability, or functional limitations related to aging. Position Overview: The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for overseeing all matters related to Human Resources at TransCare. They will be expected to act as subject matter expert and provide advice and counsel to managers and supervisors, while managing all activities related to: the administration of collective agreement and HR policy, recruiting and selection, on-boarding of new hires, benefits and RRSP administration, training and development, health and safety, HR reporting, performance and talent management. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: · Act as first point of escalation in response to employees' questions on all Human Resources-related matters · Manage the administration of benefits including but not limited to: RRSP, health benefits, travel allowances, etc · Manage WSIB cases and return to work initiatives. · Manage and monitor all leave of absence(s), vacations, and additional HR related tasks to ensure accuracy and protocols are followed. · Maintain a variety of confidential records including personnel files, payroll changes, employment applications and benefit enrolments · Manage Human Resources initiatives and activities, including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, development of HR policy, disciplinary meetings, investigations, and the termination process · Advise and assist the management team and employees on the interpretation and administration of various Human Resources policies and legislations, and the Collective Agreement · Support Payroll and Finance by providing reporting and analysis Job Specifications: (Minimum Knowledge/Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities normally required for competent performance in the job) · Post-secondary degree/diploma with concentration in Human Resources Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the Human Resources field. · Two years relevant experience in a similar human resources position; experience in a unionized environment is an asset. · Excellent knowledge of Employment Standard Act, Ontario Labour Relations Act, and Occupational Health and Safety Act. · Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). · Proficiency in using HRIS-QHR is an asset. · Demonstrated initiative and sound judgment. · Excellent oral and written communication skills. Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: · Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 4:30 with occasional evenings as required. · General office environment. · Significant amount of computer and telephone use. · Can lift &/ or carry 6-13.5kg (15-30 lbs).
