SUMMARY The Collaboration/Network Engineer will oversee all aspects of the Enterprise Infrastructure backbone. They will work closely with the Infrastructure Manager and Network Operations team to design, implement, and maintain the equipment that keeps the network performing optimally. This position reports directly to the IT Infrastructure Manager for all day to day functions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Network equipment: Providing resolution and remediation support for systems issues or failures Maintaining Routers, Switches, Firewalls – supporting common tasks and changes Maintaining Wireless systems – configuration and troubleshooting Support for Datacenter network and virtualization environments Coordination for system updates and security patches Identifying and proactively correcting deficiencies Maintaining Cloud and DR network infrastructure Troubleshooting network flows Support of Security standards Collaboration Maintain Phone systems – supporting common tasks and changes Maintain Collaboration equipment – supporting common use and scheduling Executive level support of collaborations systems Ordering of phone related equipment through IT purchasing Monitor related telecommunications invoices Monitoring and documentation: Assist with Network Asset Management and Tracking Monitoring critical network nodes and links Providing detailed documentation Other Duties/Skills: Maintaining contracts and renewals for hardware and software support Providing escalation support to Service desk – Problem resolution Maintenance of any servers supporting the greater IP network SSL Certificate Management for systems supporting the network On-Call support on a rotational basis Supporting project-oriented work as needed Work directly with TAI Sections, Telco Vendors, Hardware and Software Vendors Other Duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES May train employees, but does not supervise other employees. Required Skills QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree and typically 0 – 3 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. CCNA STRONGLY preferred Windows Server and Linux competency is a plus. Knowledge of Windows Active Directory environment. Knowledge of OSI layers and troubleshooting models. 2+ years experience with networking equipment preferred COMPUTER SKILLS Must have proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Ability to perform basic Internet research is also preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS Must be able to fluently speak, write and read in English. Ability to read, write legibly and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to apply broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures to complete difficult assignments. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Originality or ingenuity is required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent organization skills. Ability to retain knowledge and multitask. Willing to travel to remote sites as needed.
