About Bridgewater The Town of Bridgewater (pop: ~8,700) is located on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, about one hour’s drive from the provincial capital of Halifax. About the Role The Director of Finance is a senior leadership position responsible for the overall strategic management and direction of the financial affairs of the Town. The Director of Finance leads the preparation of annual budgets; develops appropriate financial controls for the organization and is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Finance Department. In addition, the Director of Finance manages the contract for IT Services for the organization. Key Qualifications Education University degree in a field related to finance is required Certification Professional Accounting designation (CPA) is required Experience A minimum of five years in a senior management role is required Experience working in municipal government finance is considered a strong asset Knowledge Good working knowledge of applicable legislation including the Municipal Government Act and the Assessment Act is required Sound knowledge of accounting systems, budgeting processes, and internal controls Good working knowledge of Information Technology systems and technologies Good knowledge of effective human resource management practices Details Permanent, full-time senior leadership position Salary range: $88,932 -- $106,171 The Town of Bridgewater offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical/dental, pension, and EAP Contact Interested applicants can send resume and cover letter in confidence to: Ashley Chase Human Resource Officer This posting will remain open until the position is filled.
