Reporting to the Director of R&D, the Toon Boom’s Technical Writing Specialist is part of the R&D team and is responsible for writing the technical documentation and user guides, in English, for all Toon Boom’s products. Responsibilities · Set the product documentation guidelines and templates, which includes a central core that will enable the creation of efficient, appealing as well as reusable documents; · Frequently review the documentation guidelines to ensure they fit the evolving market requirements and new technologies; · Ensure the language quality and consistency of all technical documentation created by the company; · Update the technical documentation for the new features and product user guides, assisted by the R&D team, Product Manager, Product Specialists, and Customer Success team as additional subject matter specialists; · Create the documents according to the required specifications for the final deployment. Qualifications · University level certificate in Technical Communication or any relevant field; · Degree in Art or Animation is an asset; · A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience as a Technical Writer; · Experience working in an animation studio is an asset; · Understanding of the animation and storyboarding pipeline is an asset; · Excellent command of written and verbal English. The ability to speak French is an asset; · Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and MadCap Flare; · Strong computer skills in PC or Mac environment; · Familiarity with CSS, XML and HTML is an asset; · Ability to quickly learn new technologies and software; · Ability to work under pressure and respect tight deadlines.
