We are seeking a UI/UX Designer to join our startup team in Johannesburg. We looking for an individual with a genuine interest in brand, identity, web and UX design. We require a designer with experience in web design, back-end development and working on responsive design projects. Media publishing site experience is a huge advantage. Responsibilities Work closely Creative Directors to understand website requirements and translate them into thoughtful page designs Develop prototype models of digital products and web interface pages across disciplines Confidently present your work/design exploration to senior partners and clients. Comfortable juggling 1-2 projects at a time Develop seamless archiving system and content management system. Optimize design aesthetics in modern, minimal style Requirements Two years of design experience in a professional setting Minimum one year of experience in comparable role Competence of industry standard software (Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch) Good grasp on design principles and practices such as layout, color theory, typography Ability to follow direction and collaborate on projects Excellent time management skills Ability to work within brand guidelines while remaining interesting and unique UX development and wireframe experience is a requirement. About Us Tonic is a digital publisher covering culture, food, tech, arts and current affairs online. We create and produce original articles, audio podcast and video content. Whether it’s digital, traditional, social, mobile, video, etc – we positioned to deliver compelling media content across the spectrum. Job Type: Commission Salary: R8,000.00 to R12,000.00 /month
