Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Security Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the Security team within the Facilities Department. They will provide day-to-day direction and support to this team as well as oversee functions relating to security and compliance throughout the site. This individual will be responsible for management and administration of the Security Management Systems on-site and the upkeep and continuous improvement of these processes and systems. Role and Responsibilities Total ownership of High Park Farm’s Security Management System (SMS): video surveillance equipment, access controls, intrusion detection, visitor management, etc. Ensuring monthly Component Checks of all SMS and physical security components are being completed and recorded and that any repairs or malfunctions identified are resolved. Liaising between internal and external stakeholders to schedule and coordinate system outages, maintaining documentation related to both planned and unplanned outages in compliance with Health Canada standards and supporting the site during these outages. Coordinating with the IT department on applicable hardware and software changes, system maintenance needs, adherence to compliance and SOPs, etc. Liaising with the alarm monitoring company on all aspects of the Facility’s Intrusion System, including maintenance, changes, documentation, etc. Creation and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Guidance Documents and Policies for the work group and security functions throughout site. Ensuring training related to the above documentation takes place and applicable documentation is completed. Assisting the Regulatory Compliance team and General Counsel with amendment documents. Assisting Health Canada in inspections relating to Security by providing items such as Access Level Documentation, Access/Entry Logs, Vault Documentation, Planned/unplanned video outage documentation, intrusion testing, reviews of camera coverage, etc. Assisting in responding to Health Canada inspection observations by formulating and executing the response plan while adhering to the proposed timelines. Assisting with security elements of new projects and working with team to execute. Ensuring that the Security schedule is maintained and site receives the necessary coverage. Reviewing and approving time cards for security personnel and assisting in hiring new staff. Supervising staff with focus on Safety and Security of the staff and property, professionalism, and adhering to the regulations of the various regulatory bodies and compliance groups. Conducting Job Task Observations to track the development of Security Personnel and completing annual employee evaluations to provide feedback and create development plans. Conducting the security section of new employee orientations. Other duties as assigned Qualifications and Education Requirements Must possess PSIS license. Occupational First Aid certification considered a valuable asset. Must possess a strong technical background in Security Management Systems, or related systems: Access Controls, Surveillance Video Coverage, Intrusion Systems, etc. Technical training or integrator certification for Genetec systems is an asset. A thorough understanding of integrated Intrusion Systems and intrusion related components (contacts, IR sensors, etc.) is an asset. A thorough understanding of the Security regulations set out by the various governing bodies. Must have excellent attention to detail and proven ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders Must possess proficient administrative skills to adequately draft technical reports and proposals. Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated capacity to lead a high performing team. Minimum one year of prior experience in a supervisory role required. Proven ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Applications and general computer usage. Must have the ability to obtain SCH status as per Health Canada guidelines and standards.
