Who is Tierra Encantada? Tierra Encantada, based out of Minneapolis, provides high quality language immersion early education to children ages 6 weeks through 6 years of age. We are looking for an experienced development professional to join our growing team in this newly created position of Construction & Real Estate Development Specialist. This position is perfect for someone who wants to join a rapidly growing company with significant opportunities for career advancement and wants to help develop this new department. The essential responsibilities of this position include: Research potential development sites through a variety of methods (Loopnet, through our real estate partner, direct contact, etc) Provide site selection and development guidance for franchisees Assist with lease and purchase agreement negotiations and make recommendations about prospective sites Procure proposals for construction projects and make recommendations about contract awards Develop project budgets, coordinate project development and oversee project schedules working with space planners, architects, contractors, and sub-contractors Develop a system to track and manage project docs, materials, notes, and communications Develop and maintain strong relationships with franchisees and outside partners and contractors Misc projects as assigned Qualifications: This position is perfect for a “doer” that has excellent time management skills, and a keen ability to prioritize time wisely and manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Specific things we are looking for are: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction, Real Estate, Architecture, Project Management, or related field At least 2 years’ experience in construction, real estate development, and/or project management Self-directed with excellent organizational skills and high standard of attention to detail High level of professional and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships and handle confidential situations and information Professional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), QuickBooks, and Google Docs/Sheets Ability to travel periodically (less than 5%) Once job offer has been accepted, candidate must pass background check and credit check prior to first day. E-verify is used to verify work authorization status. Pay, Benefits, and Schedule: This position is located at our corporate office in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The salary range for this position is $44,000 - $54,000 based on qualifications and experience. Benefits include discounted childcare, paid training/certification, medical and dental insurance, eleven paid holidays, and 15 days accrued paid time off annually.
