Talent Manager, London – Job Description Reports to: Head of Talent, London studio Direct Reports: Talent Generalist Working closely with: Artists, Production, Pipeline, IT, LA counterparts Talent/HR and Learning and Development THE THIRD FLOOR is the world's leading visualisation studio dedicated to supporting the production of next-generation media content for feature film, television, commercials, video games, virtual reality and themed attractions. The Talent Manager is central to ensuring a happy, engaged cohesive and productive team. The role is a unique opportunity working in a generalist role within the Talent team. You will continue to build a culture that encourages and fosters people to be their best. You will focus on Talent development, Recruitment and Appraising internal talent. The Talent Manager will manage the London artists performance reviews along with the Head of Talent, there will be a 50/50 split. The role sits closely within the business and functions as a partnering position. Responsibilities: Artist/HR Focus Manages employee relations issues including conflict resolutions, coaching and counseling of employees, performance management, talent development, and resource allocation. Collaborating with managers in the business to ensure the smooth running of the company from a people perspective. The administration of employee-related paperwork, such as employment contracts, contract extensions or formal notices of termination. Reviews contract durations and end dates and raises these with the Head of Talent and Head of Production. Manages and supports the Talent Generalist with their workload priorities. Works with the Head of Talent/Casting Manager to oversee the casting of teams to ensure that skill levels are equally distributed. To process applications for work Visas and the renewals. To sign off the staff changes and to update the HRIS of any changes. To visit the teams based at the Film Studios to assist with their requirements or concerns. Work with the Talent/HR team in LA to ensure cross site plans take place dependent on the Production requirements such as intra-company transfers, talent management and TTF policies. Keep up to date with employment law and the latest innovation trends in our industry. Recruitment/Outreach To manage the London Recruitment needs with the Talent Generalist as per the project requirements and business needs. Support the recruitment process – this will include writing job descriptions and shortlisting applications for specific roles. To advise on the correct banding of artists based on their experience and benchmarking in the Visualization/VFX industries. The negotiate agency fees and artist salaries when required. Mange and attend the Visualization outreach efforts with schools, colleges, industry events and universities. Organisation Development Managing talent pools and succession plans with the Head of Talent. This is to ensure the company can continue to progress in the future and that internal staff will continue to progress. Learning & Development Artist related management including, annual appraisals, split with the Head of Talent. To use the Skills Matrix to address any concerns on performance. To regularly assess the training needs with the Talent Generalist in conjunction with our Global L&D Manager. Working with SME’s and the Talent Generalist to deliver in the areas of importance. Essential Skills & Qualification: CIPD qualified or equivalent experience within Human Resources Substantial experience of working within a hybrid position in HR/Talent Able to demonstrate up to date knowledge of theory and good practice in employment legislation Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent negotiation and influencing skills Personal credibility; a person that others will trust with handling sensitive data and information in a honest and trustworthy way Pragmatic and solution-oriented Ability to remain calm and confident in a fast-paced environment Inquisitive, with an open mind Passionate for promoting a positive working environment and culture Previous experience within a Visualization/VFX environment (desirable) Visa knowledge for applications (Training will be offered on joining.).
