Position Summary Associate Genetic Counsellor Fixed Term Position Contract Length 22nd May 2020 – 22.8 hours per week The Royal Women’s Hospital is Australia’s first and largest specialist hospital dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of newborns and women of all ages. Information about your Department Your contribution Insert Information about the purpose of this Position Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following: Provision of quality genetic counselling services to patients attending The Women’s and Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospitals. Ensure effective communication concerning patient care with other members of the health care team including specialist clinics, community providers. Ensure timely assessment and access of newly referred patients in line with clinical standards Ensure that accurate information and records are maintained in line with relevant hospital policies and guidelines About you To be successful within this role you will need to have: Part 1 Certification in genetic counselling by the Human Genetics Society of Australasia Demonstrated skills and experience in the provision of genetic counselling Ability to work as a sole practitioner and as part of a multidisciplinary team Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Our offering When you join the Women’s you unite with talented people who share your purpose and unwavering determination to advance health outcomes for all women. Essential: Do you have a broad knowledge and understanding of genetic counselling, including medical, genetic and psychosocial aspects?
