You are… The ‘go to’ person for all financial aspects of TMP Germany, a German entity with a UK HQ and a US Affiliate. You will report into the Chief Financial Officer, based in our HQ and the leadership of the German business, based in the German office. You will be early in your career as a financial professional and eager to work for a fast growing small business with the backing of a global HQ. From entering the sales and purchase ledger invoices to creating the month end P&L and managing everything in-between. Your main responsibility will be to ensure the end to end financial accounting and its management is supporting business growth and maximising financial performance. You will bring relevant and credible analysis and interpretation to add value to the business and have a natural instinct of making sure actions and tasks are completed by deadlines and what to do to achieve this in a complex and fast paced environment. You will have responsibility for supporting the implementation of company internal controls and commercial governance. You will support and train through understanding of the TMP way and share your knowledge of financial best practice across the finance team and non-financial managers. Job duties and responsibilities Process and manage the purchase ledger on a day to day basis, including creating suppliers on Sage/Synergist, inputting invoices, ensuring the supplier accounts are accurate and preparing payment runs Process and manage the sales ledger on a day to day basis, including creating clients on Sage/Synergist, raising and issuing invoices and managing credit control Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, forecast planning and review performance KPIs with the German Managing Director and CFO, making recommendations and running detailed analysis where appropriate Oversee the management of all budget holders and ensure effective cost management Ensure that the balance sheet recs are correct, completed on time, and queries resolved in a timely basis Ensure accurate and timely reporting of statutory taxes Posting monthly the payroll journal and management of GL transactions (accruals, prepayments and fixed assets) Maintaining the German accounting systems; including Sage 50 and Futrli Managing intercompany recharges and ensuring transfer pricing and VAT rules are met Working with the CFO to ensure we maximise commercial opportunities through supplier selection and management Work with the CFO to ensure proactive and efficient client onboarding and on-going commercial management. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Manage the monthly revenue recognition process, working with CLS prior to the monthly commercial reviews to minimise risk of non recovery and time to receipt payments. Preparing and managing the company’s annual and adhoc audit requirements Work closely with the Company’s accountant to ensure statutory tax obligations are met on time Work to month end timetables and deadlines Ensuring the correct insurances are in place to protect business assets and minimise risk Keeping accurate and complete records Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Results-orientated and service delivery focused. High attention to detail. Able to work in a busy and fast paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organisation essential. Strong problem solving and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make recommendations based on accurate and timely analyses. Knowledge of Sage 50 Experience Management / Financial Accounting 3 year minimum Working in a small finance team, in a group environment is desirable Experience of dealing with non-financial managers Experience of working in a Professional Services Company
