We are currently looking for a Part-time Maintenance Officer to support our Cranbourne shelter with the general up-keep and maintenance of the facility. This part-time role will consist of approximately 23 hours per week. Reporting to the Shelter Supervisor, the maintenance officer will ensure the smooth operations of our facilities, including ongoing maintenance of the buildings, gardening, cleaning, and stock control. The ideal candidate will have a facilities or trades background, and loves to be surrounded by dogs and cats! Your responsibilities will include: undertaking urgent, routine and general maintenance and repairs general grounds and buildings maintenance gardening tasks including mowing, weeding, gutter cleaning general cleaning of amenities ordering and stock control of all chemicals and general shelter stock general ad-hoc duties as required adhering to all OH&S policy and procedures To be successful in this role, you need to have: experience working in a similar environment a desire to work effectively in a small team excellent customer service skills both internally and externally the ability to take instruction and meet set deadlines the ability to perform manual labour duties Trade qualifications (desirable) We offer our staff a variety of benefits including discounts in our vet clinic, Employee Assistance Program, access to our Foster Care program and a unique work environment supporting a great cause.
